Gabion installation procedure and tips!
Gabion:
(1) Material Transport
Gebing net is woven net, through a series of processes like election wire, weaving, cutting films, crochet, testing and others. Gabion can be in a roll, and it can also be a cage compressed and packed, in order to facilitate the workers to handle packing and shipping. Tie wire is supported in volume form. It would be preferable to put gabion into a dry environment, properly tied, and easy to ship.
(2) Installation requirements:
Put the folded Gebing net on the smooth ground and unfold it, flatten the folds. Raise the front and rear panels, floor, partitions to a certain position, form the box shape. Connect the upper and lower corners of the adjacent cage group with double-stranded wire; the upper and lower border, or broken line, tying, and use the fixed-wire twisted around the screw to tighten the link. Gabion net is divided into cells by a partition, in order to strengthen the mat structure. All the panel side edges are used a larger diameter wire. The number of pieces of blank Gebing are placed on the ground and connected together. If have sublayer cage group, when binding the adjacent bottom line of the upperlayer cage group,you must bind the border wire or mesh panel of the lower cage group and tighten them with screw fixed wire in order to facilitate the integration. (3) Setup
Binding with tie wire which is approximately 1.5 times longer than the edge wire. The longest side wire of the cage should not exceed 1 meter in general. Connect the four corners at top and bottom of the adjacent cage group with a single stock or a double-stranded wire, double-stranded spaced not more than 300mm. (4) foundation to prepare
Gabion net need to be placed on the smooth slope or excavated foundation pit designed according to the construction design. Level the foundation pit and slope, and irregularly sprinkle some loose soil and corresponding plants which is in line with project specifications on the top of them. Drainage around the foundation should be done to a reasonable measurement (such as the geotextile fabric and drainage structures which comply with the project need to work). In the slope protection structures, the sideway of gabion net can be installed some civil textiles which meet the installation requirements.
(5) Installation and Materials
When the foundation is ready, put the pre-installed gabion(in position empty) which are not equipped with materials in the appropriate location, along the border to link the various parts to form a continuous unified whole. Stones required to load should comply with the appropriate rules of quarrying.Can use the break stone machinery to break the large size stones and meet the needs. Stone needs to be hard, smooth edges and corners, with durability, thus the stone will not go far as to crack when soaked in water or exposed to the sun and other harsh environments. Stone should be between 100mm to 200mm with a tolerance of +5%, not exposed to the surface. In addition, the largest stone should be no more than 250mm, the smallest not less than 50mm. 1m high gabion should be filled with 300mm high stone, 0.5m high gabion filled with 250mm high stone. Fill the gabion box with stone, the general control of thickness of each layer is about 30cm, and make appropriate tamping and surface stacked flat. If the cage thickness is less than 30cm, it can be filled disposably. Be careful not to damage the PVC coating when mounted stone. In the process of stone mounting,should use machinery and manual matching method. First of all fill the gabion with mechanical equipment to the height of not more than 1 / 2, and then manually place the stone around neatly, fill dense with small stones and then continue loading. Suggested a small stone filling should be primarily internal, external appearance should not use small stone. In slope protection works the size of stone filled the cage can be smaller, and in flood control projects the size of gabion retaining wall filler particle can be larger. Gabion net which is installed at the and of wall needs to expose both sides, reinforced vertically mounted on the side of 0.5m high stone cage net. In the slope protection project needn't reinforced fixed in-house. In the need to install the multi-storey gabion net, filled with about 25-40mm stone in each layer. (6) Seal
Reasonably fill the network with stone, level it basically, leaving the smallest gap,and then close the net cover. Banding the border line where the net cover in contact with the net body according to the provisions so that a single stone cage can connect with other adjacent stone cages. Note not to damage the mesh wire and PVC coating. The protruding edging wire of the net cover needs to be two laps around the perimeter, the edges should be tightly tied.
